Notes on a Ponytail

We all covet the perfect ponytail.  Some of us aren't blessed with a respectable amount of hair to put up in that ever so coquettish ponytail so we have to fake it. 

Here are some great products to help you on the way to the perfect ponytail...

1. Toppix:  If you don't have the strongest hairline, either from breakage or traction alopecia... this is a must have  product.  Toppix is hair fibers that are available in a range of tones to match your hair color.  You simply apply the product to your thinning edges and brush into your hair.  It blends seamlessly and gives the illusion of thicker hair ( who doesn't love that? )

2. Tancho Stick:  Who knew that Indonesian's knew the secret to taming unruly edges.  Edges is a word that only those who have them know what we're talking about.  So if you have them... change your life... try this lavender wax pomade stick that tames even the unruliest of edges without a heavy  petroleum or mineral oil product.

Working with Textured Ponytails

With the holidays approaching a great way to mix it up is to use a textured ponytail piece.

We love that these three ponytails mimic natural African American Hair. To work with these pieces it's best to mess them up A LOT! Don't be afraid to take your brush and work through them to release the uniform curl pattern.

Styling Tips:

1. Don't just plop the ponytail onto you slicked down hair suddenly. It always gives away that you are wearing a ponytail.

2. Consider embracing your natural texture and creating volume in the front with a pump ponytail or pin curling your two strand twists in to a bang at front.

3. Recreate a faux hawk with the help of a textured ponytail. Slick your hair down only on the sides and then add volume in the center of your hair with a strategically placed textured ponytail in the middle.
